Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 11, 2026

1. Who we are

Parlova ("we", "us", "our") operates the website parlova.app. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at privacy@parlova.app.

2. What data we collect

When you join our waitlist, we collect the following personal data:

  • First name — to personalise our communications.
  • Email address — to contact you about your waitlist status and, if you opt in, product updates.
  • Language preference, current level, referral source (optional) — to help us understand our audience and improve the product.
  • Consent records — timestamps and flags indicating the consents you gave.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your data based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation). You give this consent by ticking the required checkbox on our signup form. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at privacy@parlova.app.

4. How we use your data

  • To manage your place on the Parlova waitlist.
  • To send you a one-time welcome email confirming your signup.
  • If you opted in, to send occasional updates about Parlova's launch and product news.
  • To analyse aggregated, non-identifying trends (e.g. which languages are most requested).

5. Data processors

We use the following third-party services to operate the waitlist:

  • Supabase, Inc. (database hosting) — headquartered in the US. Supabase maintains a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and implements appropriate safeguards for international transfers under GDPR.
  • Resend, Inc. (transactional email) — used to deliver your welcome email and any opted-in updates.
  • Vercel, Inc. (website hosting) — serves the parlova.app website.

6. Data retention

We retain your waitlist data until the product launches or for a maximum of 12 months from the date you signed up, whichever comes first. After that period, your data will be deleted unless you convert to an active user account.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data and receive a copy.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@parlova.app. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies & tracking

We do not use cookies for analytics or advertising. We do not use any third-party tracking scripts. The site may use strictly necessary cookies for functionality (e.g. security headers), which do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.

9. CAN-SPAM compliance

All emails we send include an unsubscribe mechanism. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing privacy@parlova.app or using the unsubscribe link in our emails. We honour all unsubscribe requests promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you opted in to marketing) or by posting a notice on our website. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
